Ebi

Ebi (Persian: ابی‎, Ebrahim Hamedi, Persian: ابراهیم حامدی‎ born on June 22, 1949) is a Persian singer, also known as "The King of Persian Pop," and "Mr of Voice." Ebi is one of the most popular and loved Persian artists in the world, not only for his music, but also for his constant stance for democracy and freedom, and for his genuine kindness to his millions of fans and followers. Ebi currently lives in Marbella, Spain, although he spends much time in Los Angeles, CA as the city serves as the center of Persian music entertainment since the Islamic revolution in Iran, but mostly he spends his time touring around the world at sold out venues. Ebi has combined musical influences from traditional Persian music, western pop and sometimes Latino style rhythms. During his more than 40 years in the industry, with sold out shows from Los Angeles to Sydney, and more than two dozen albums, Ebi has created an unparalleled musical legacy. Persian music. Early life and career

Ebi was born in Iran as the oldest son to a family of 5. He received early musical schooling, as he was discovered by the Ministry of Art and Culture at a very early age. Declining an offer of further pursue classical schooling as an opera soloist in Italy, Ebi instead turned to popular music as a member in the group "Sun Boys".

A major breakthrough was Ebi's performance of the song "Night" or "Shab" (Persian: شب ‎) at Fereydoun Farrokhzad's TV-show "Mikhak-e Noghreyi".

Except for his incredibly impressive musical discography, Ebi has released several hit singles and soundtracks for Iranian films, and won several prizes and awards around the world. It was during a series of planned concerts in the USA that Ebi, due to the events preceding the revolution of 1979, decided not to return to Iran.
